Calling All Actors ! ! ! !

Anxious to get back on stage? Well, plan on auditioning for Hard Road's next show, "Love, Sex & the IRS" - a hilarious farce that'll have the audiences rolling in the aisles. Auditions are 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 18th and 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 19th at the Weinheimer Community Center.

There are roles for 5 men and 3 women (although that can vary somewhat) of all ages. (Well, maybe not for high school students . . . sorry.) The play includes two male roommates and their girlfriends (25 - 35 years old), and IRS agent (30 - 50 years), Mama (45 - 65 years), and a building superintendent and a minister (ages wide open). These are only guidelines and final casting will depend on who auditions for the roles.

You can attend either audition date. The audition will consist of nothing more than an orientation and some cold readings from the script.

So, if you want to be part of Hard Road's gut-busting fall hit, come out and audition. Even the audition is fun!

Did you forget about auditions?

The cast for 101 Dalmatians has been selected and is posted on our web site. What? You wanted to be in the show but forgot about the auditions? Well, I guess you'll have to wait until next year.

NO, NOT REALLY! If you missed the auditions, it is certainly not too late. We're always anxious to have as many of our local aspiring actors on stage as possible. (After all, we DO need 101 Dalmatians!)

So, if you still want to be in the show, let us know. Contact any one of our production staff - or send our producer an email at holli@hardroad.org.

Contact us - you'll have a ball!

Thank you, Highland City Council

On Monday, March 19th, Rob Bowman, on behalf of Hard Road Theatre, requested the City of Highland's support of our kid's summer show (Disney's 101 Dalmatians). In lieu of charging admission to the show, we asked the city to purchase all of the tickets for the show and then offer free admission to anyone wanting to see the show. (The show will be performed in the pavilion on the Square.)
After a brief discussion the City Council unanimously approved the request (as they had for our 2006 summer show). So, once again, admission to our summer show will be free.
We are extremely grateful to the city for their continued support of the arts in Highland and we look forward to seeing everyone at Disney's 101 Dalmatians Kids on June 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2007 on the Square!

Hiatus

Well, we've just completed our 2006 - 2007 season with a very successful production of "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change". You may think that we have nothing to do since we have a little breather before our 2007 - 2008 season begins this summer. If only that were the case.

Right now we are frantically getting things ready for next season - licensing shows, preparing all the publicity materials, lining up production teams for each show, lining up additional production venues, securing sponsors for the season and for each show, getting web updates ready and on, and on, and on. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. I love this stuff. (Keep repeating, "I love this stuff . . .I love this stuff . . I love this . . . . . . .")

What's in store for next year? Here's the schedule: the kid's summer show - "Disney's 101 Dalmatians Kids", the summer show - "Disney's High School Musical", the fall play - "Love, Sex and the IRS" and our winter musical - "Nunsensations: A Vegas Revue". Great shows - fun to be in and fun to watch. We're pretty excited about this upcoming season.
